- The arrival of the Spanish-flagged Guipuscano sometime in 1790 with 197 slaves should have left some mark in the notarial record, and is surely related to the transactions of La Chiapella (51, mostly slave sales). In 1788 Geromo La Chiapella was involved in 68 transactions, almost all slave sales, and the most of any New Orleans merchant that year, so it may be presumed that those were related to the arrival of Santa Catalina (204 slaves) and Feliz (228) coming from Africa.
